One public mapping for each date
The daily hexagram is selected by applying a stable, published hash to the Gregorian date and taking the result modulo 64. It is not a traditional astronomical calendar rule and is not random after the date is chosen. Everyone who enters the same date receives the same King Wen number, making the feature suitable as a shared study schedule.
The card provides the Unicode hexagram symbol, Chinese name, pinyin, English reference name, and binary line pattern. Those identifiers make it possible to open a preferred translation or commentary without relying on this website to invent a reading. The output intentionally stops before a personalized prediction because the form has no personal context and does not ask a question.
A study prompt is not an ancient almanac claim
Some traditions derive daily hexagrams from calendrical, plum-blossom, or other numerological methods. This page does not claim to reproduce those schools. Its date hash is a modern scheduling device whose value lies in consistency and coverage: across time it directs attention to different members of the complete 64-hexagram sequence.
That distinction is displayed because a deterministic computer mapping can otherwise look falsely authoritative. If a source calls one hexagram the authentic ruling figure for a day, inspect its formula, time zone, day boundary, and sequence. Different disclosed methods can produce different study selections without either program malfunctioning.
How to use the daily selection
Read the symbol as an invitation to study its structure, imagery, historical text, or translation history. Note the upper and lower trigrams, compare more than one translation, and keep observations separate from claims about what will happen. Returning on another date changes the assigned chapter without requiring an account or storing reading history.
Do not treat the daily selection as medical, legal, financial, employment, or relationship advice. It is also unsuitable for gambling or risk timing. The selected date stays in the browser. The tool offers a repeatable route through a classic text while leaving factual decisions to evidence and preserving the difference between study and divination. A date can be revisited later because the mapping will not drift with a new software session.
