Calculating a Personal Year from two dates
Personal Year combines the birth month and birth day with the digits of a selected calendar year. The sum is reduced to an ordinary number from 1 through 9; master numbers are not preserved in this timing method. The birth year is not used. That is why people sharing a month and day receive the same Personal Year in a given calendar year.
For example, a May 17 birthday in 2026 produces 5 + 17 + 2 + 0 + 2 + 6. The displayed raw total and digit reduction make the boundary clear. Some traditions switch the cycle on January 1, while others emphasize the birthday or describe an overlap. This page calculates the calendar-year convention and labels it directly.
The nine-year sequence
Because the result is reduced to 1–9, it advances through a repeating symbolic cycle as calendar years change. Common themes move from initiation at 1 through cooperation, expression, structure, change, responsibility, reflection, material stewardship, and completion at 9. Those words are interpretive summaries; they are not measured conditions in the selected year.
A 9 year does not guarantee an ending, and a 1 year does not require a new business or relationship. The cycle can support planning questions, such as what to begin, maintain, review, or release, but real plans still depend on evidence and circumstances. Personal Month and Day divide the selected year into shorter symbolic intervals.

The year field can calculate past or future calendar years, making it useful for checking an old reading or learning the sequence. It does not pull events, store a history, or compare the result with a person’s outcomes. Birth data remains local. The page does not change the selected year based on today’s date after submission.
Use the result as a low-stakes reflection framework, not as a forecast of health, money, safety, fertility, legal outcomes, or relationship success. Do not delay care or take financial risk because a year number appears favorable. The same cycle is shared by many people and contains no information about their resources, decisions, or environment.
