American Express announced the launch of the next generation of Amex Corporate, positioning the new offering as the latest evolution of Amex Business Membership. The program bundles the new American Express Corporate Cashback Cards with Expense Management software, the new Amex Expense mobile app, and planned AI-enabled capabilities into a single commercial offering, supported by the company's global servicing infrastructure.

Corporate Cashback Card mechanics

The new Corporate Cashback Card is designed for businesses seeking consolidated control features and is available with unlimited physical and Virtual Cards for employees under one flat annual fee. Cardholders earn 1.5% cash back as a monthly statement credit on up to $10 million per calendar year across the company's Corporate Cashback Cards, with the rate moving to 1% above that threshold. The program carries a $2,950 annual program membership fee, which is waived for the first year, and includes 3% Uber Cash on Business Rides and Uber Eats. The card itself is described as a new etched-metal card in a blue gradient design.

Software and app for spend visibility

Alongside the card, the launch introduces Expense Management software that automatically captures transaction data from Corporate Cashback Card purchases, giving finance teams greater visibility, faster reconciliation and personalized spend controls. The companion Amex Expense app generates submission-ready expenses as purchases occur, reducing reliance on manual monthly expense reports. Planned future enhancements outlined in the announcement include additional AI agents and Accounts Payable workflows intended to further automate and simplify financial operations.

Leadership framing and customer research

Raymond Joabar, Group President, Global Commercial Services at American Express, said the new Amex Corporate features are designed to help businesses know where money is going and who is spending it, save time, and simplify day-to-day operations, all backed by the trust and service of American Express. The company cited survey research indicating that nearly 9 out of 10 businesses it surveyed said their future growth depends on getting a better understanding of employee spending, which it used to frame the program's emphasis on visibility and control. American Express, which has served the commercial segment for over 60 years, framed the launch as the next evolution of Amex Business Membership.

Follow-up signals

Future milestones tied to this launch include the planned rollout of additional AI agents and Accounts Payable workflows within Amex Corporate, which the announcement said would further automate and simplify financial operations for Corporate Cashback Card customers.
