Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Fold8 and Flip8 headline the lineup

Samsung introduced three new foldable devices: the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, the Galaxy Z Fold8 and the Galaxy Z Flip8, positioning the trio as "Foldables, Perfected for Every Way of Living," according to a Samsung Global Newsroom announcement. The devices form the centerpiece of the company's premium smartphone refresh.

Qualcomm partnership extends to watches and intelligent eyewear

Qualcomm disclosed an expanded collaboration with Samsung under which Snapdragon platforms will power the new Galaxy lineup across smartphones, watches and intelligent eyewear. The announcement was issued the same day as the Unpacked event, extending the chip relationship beyond handsets.

Background: physical AI push and U.S. headcount move

Samsung Electronics shares had risen in the prior session after a robotics disclosure highlighted the company's push into physical AI, CNBC reported. Separately, NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth said Samsung was laying off hundreds of staff as it relocated its U.S. headquarters to Plano, Texas.
