Local partnerships and training pathways
The Arkansas program will work with the University of Arkansas Pulaski Technical College, the Little Rock Regional Chamber and the Academies of Central Arkansas to expand hands-on manufacturing pathways for students, increase technical training capacity, and align employer needs with classroom instruction. Chief Human Resources Officer Christy Pambianchi said the investment will help create training pathways and programs for future manufacturing careers, while Sanders framed the effort as part of building America's workforce.
Existing footprint in the state
Caterpillar said it employs more than 530 people in Arkansas and works with roughly 60 suppliers across the state. The company's North Little Rock facility opened in 2010 as a motor grader plant and later expanded to include medium wheel loader and paving products, anchoring its Arkansas manufacturing presence that the new training dollars are meant to reinforce.
