Recall split between Moline and East Moline operations

Deere announced plans to bring back more than 375 employees across its Quad Cities factory operations, distributing the recalls between two Illinois facilities. The company will return 150 employees to Seeding and Cylinder operations in Moline and about 225 employees to Harvester Works in East Moline, according to a company news release reported on September 14, 2026.
Stated rationale and workforce context
Deere said the additional workforce will help build dealer inventory before the upcoming planting and harvesting cycles, support long-term operational planning, and position the company to continue serving customers through all operating environments, including future labor negotiations. Spokesperson Dustin Lemmon framed the move as part of Deere's planning commitment, saying: "Planning ahead is part of our commitment to customers and our manufacturing workforce. We're pleased to welcome experienced team members back to our Quad Cities operations. Their skills and craftsmanship directly support the quality equipment our farmers and contractors depend on." He added that Deere's focus remains on serving customers while continuing to work constructively with its workforce and union partners.
Year-to-date hiring and recall totals
The Quad Cities recalls are part of a broader regional hiring effort. Since January, Deere has brought back or hired more than 800 employees across Iowa and Illinois, according to the company's release.
Follow-up signals
Deere did not announce a specific date for when the recalled employees would return to their previous roles at the Moline and East Moline facilities.
