Nintendo names Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown as its latest Switch Online Game Trial

Nintendo has named Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown as the latest Nintendo Switch Online Game Trial, available to members at no additional cost. The trial runs from Sept. 24 at 10 a.m. PT to Sept. 30 at 11:59 p.m. PT, during which subscribers can download and try the full game for the Nintendo Switch system. In parallel, Nintendo is running a 70% discount on the digital version of the title at the Nintendo eShop and Nintendo Store, with that sale ending Oct. 7 at 11:59 p.m. PT. Save data earned during the trial carries over if a member decides to purchase the game during or after the offer.

How the offer is positioned

Nintendo framed the trial as a chance to "dash into a stylish and thrilling action-adventure platformer set in a mythological Persian world where the boundaries of time and space are yours to manipulate." Members play as Sargon, evolving "from sword-wielding prodigy to extraordinary legend" by mastering acrobatic combat and unlocking Time Powers and unique super abilities. Switch Online members can also complete a mission to earn 100 My Nintendo Platinum Points simply by trying the trial, adding an extra incentive layered on top of the free play window and the time-limited eShop markdown.
