Ondo Finance launched Ondo Intelligent Portfolios, a new category of curated portfolios delivered as single transferable blockchain tokens, the company announced on September 24, 2026. The three initial products are based on portfolio strategies developed by BlackRock specifically for Ondo, marking what the company described as the first time such strategies have been made available to eligible onchain investors through a single token. Distribution is limited to eligible investors outside the United States in permitted jurisdictions, with tokens transferable peer-to-peer across wallets, exchanges and decentralized-finance applications.
Three tokenized portfolios for income, allocation and growth
The launch lineup comprises Ondo High Income Powered by BlackRock (BLKHIon), Ondo Diversified Growth Powered by BlackRock (BLKDIGon) and Ondo High Growth Powered by BlackRock (BLKGRWon). Ondo stated that the portfolios use its Ondo Stocks instruments for underlying equity and ETF exposure, with constituents, target weights and rebalances visible onchain and executed programmatically through smart contracts. The High Income portfolio, for example, currently contains nine underlying exposures, with 18% base allocations each to products tracking BlackRock's iShares High Yield Systematic Bond ETF and iShares Investment Grade Systematic Bond ETF alongside allocations linked to active and short-duration bond funds.
BlackRock's role defined as non-discretionary model design
BlackRock framed its involvement narrowly, providing nondiscretionary model portfolio strategies built to specifications supplied by Ondo. The asset manager does not manage the onchain portfolios and does not handle tokenization, issuance, distribution, custody or operation of the products. Tokens are issued by Ondo Global Markets, while Ondo Finance manages, sponsors and administers the products. BlackRock Global Head of Model Portfolio Solutions Lisa O'Connor said the launch "shows how established portfolio construction approaches can be delivered through new channels and technologies," and Ondo Acting CEO and President Ian De Bode said the portfolios "are made accessible onchain, transferable at any time, and usable across DeFi."
Building on earlier tokenization work
The release extends Ondo and BlackRock's prior collaboration on tokenized funds. Ondo previously moved $95 million of OUSG assets into BlackRock's BUIDL tokenized money market fund, which BlackRock launched with Securitize in March 2024, and BlackRock followed that with two tokenized money market products in August aimed at stablecoin reserves. Ondo said it plans to add additional onchain portfolios over time, signaling the September 24 launch as the first in a planned series rather than a one-off product release.
Corporate control dispute at Ondo
The launch comes against the backdrop of an unresolved dispute over control of Ondo following the death of founder Nathan Allman in May. His mother, Kathleen Allman, is seeking control of the company and the removal of De Bode as chief executive, alleging he assumed the role without board approval; De Bode has called those allegations "meritless." The company has not publicly linked the leadership dispute to the product launch, and the September 24 announcement was issued under De Bode's title of Acting CEO and President.
