Sandisk Unveils NAS 600 and NAS 800 SSDs for Network-Attached Storage

Sandisk has introduced its first SSD line engineered specifically for network-attached storage, the SanDisk NAS 600 SATA SSD and the SanDisk NAS 800 NVMe SSD. The company announced the new portfolio on 9 September 2026, positioning the drives for prosumers, creative professionals, and small businesses running collaborative, always-on workflows that increasingly depend on private cloud setups. Anil Moolchandani, vice-president of product management at Sandisk, said "the way users employ NAS has fundamentally changed" and that today's prosumers, creative professionals, and small businesses are "managing larger datasets, collaborating across teams, and relying on systems that need to perform around the clock."

NAS 600: a SATA replacement for existing bays

The NAS 600 is a 2.5-inch, 7mm SATA drive designed to slot into 3.5-inch NAS bays built for 2.5-inch SSDs, giving users a low-friction way to replace aging hard drives or add a solid-state tier to an existing NAS enclosure. Sandisk rates the drive for endurance of up to 2,500 TBW on its 4TB model and a mean time to failure of up to 2.25 million hours. Sequential read speeds reach up to 560MB/s with no mechanical noise, according to the company, and the drive is intended for multi-drive and RAID configurations. Capacities span from 500GB to 4TB, with the 500GB model priced from $179.99.

NAS 800: a PCIe 5.0 drive for all-flash and hybrid arrays

The NAS 800 targets heavier all-flash and hybrid NAS deployments running business-critical or AI-adjacent workloads, using a PCIe 5.0 interface and Sandisk's TLC 3D NAND. On its 7.68TB model the drive is rated for endurance of up to 14 petabytes written, with up to 2.3 million random read IOPS and 2 million random write IOPS on the 3.84TB model. Sequential read and write speeds reach up to 14,900MB/s and 13,200MB/s respectively on the 1.92TB variant. Sandisk said the drive has been tested for compatibility with the M.2 2280 slot across a number of NAS systems, with capacities ranging from 960GB to 7.68TB and the 960GB model priced from $309.99.

Pricing, availability, and what remains unconfirmed

Both drives go on sale this month through Sandisk.com and at retailers worldwide, with U.S. pricing starting at $179.99 for the NAS 600 and $309.99 for the NAS 800. Sandisk has not yet announced India pricing or availability, and the endurance figures for both drives are based on internal JEDEC and Telcordia-based testing rather than independent verification.
