Adarsh Baal Vidyalaya leads Prime Video global charts
Prime Video's comedy-drama Adarsh Baal Vidyalaya, which premiered worldwide on July 24, was trending in the Top 10 series worldwide within four days of launch, according to a Prime Video India statement dated July 30 and republished on August 2. The series emerged as Prime Video India's biggest Original series debut in two years and drew viewership from 87% of India's PIN codes. Directed by Himank Gaur and created and executive produced by Biswapati Sarkar and Sameer Saxena under the banner of Posham Pa Pictures, the series stars Kay Kay Menon alongside an ensemble cast that includes Archana Puran Singh, Abhimanyu Singh, Naveen Kasturia, Prasanna Bisht, Deven Bhojani, Ajitesh Gupta, Annapurna Soni, and Prachee Shah. "The success of Adarsh Baal Vidyalaya is a powerful reaffirmation" of Prime Video's commitment to locally rooted stories, said Nikhil Madhok, Director and Head of Originals, Prime Video India.
The Boys re-enters Prime Video's U.S. Top 10
In the United States, Prime Video's superhero series The Boys returned to No. 10 on the platform's Top 10 TV shows chart in early August, according to FlixPatrol data cited by CBR on August 2. The reentry comes two months after the series finale premiered on May 20 and follows a brief dip outside the Top 10. The show had been renewed for a fifth and final season in May 2024, ahead of its Season 4 premiere. A prequel series, Vought Rising, is set to premiere on Prime Video in 2027 with Jensen Ackles reprising Soldier Boy and Aya Cash returning as Stormfront, while the college-set spinoff Gen V will not return for a third season after its Season 2 finale.
Prime Video titles feature in broader Nielsen streaming rankings
Prime Video's Elle and Project Hail Mary made strong Nielsen debuts during the June 29 to July 5 streaming tracking window, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter and cited in an August 2 roundup of summer TV trends. That week's overall Nielsen streaming rankings were led by Love Island USA, which reclaimed the No. 1 position, while Netflix's Avatar: The Last Airbender and Worst Neighbor Ever each crossed the billion-minute mark and Paramount+'s Dutton Ranch wrapped its season with strong numbers. Netflix thriller I Will Find You, by contrast, saw a 56% viewership drop in its third week. The Nielsen measurement covers TV viewing only and excludes mobile and computer viewing, a methodological caveat noted in the same coverage.
Prime Video India's 2026 slate builds on earlier hits
The Adarsh Baal Vidyalaya debut adds to a string of Prime Video Indian Originals that have charted globally in 2026. According to Prime Video India, Subedaar became the service's most-watched Indian Original movie in its opening weekend, Matka King became its most-watched new series in two years, System became the No. 1 non-English movie worldwide and the No. 2 most-watched movie globally, and Raakh became the No. 1 non-English series worldwide. Madhok's statement framed Adarsh Baal Vidyalaya as joining a slate of earlier Prime Video India successes including Panchayat and Dupahiya, underscoring the platform's push into regionally rooted stories with global reach.
