Trapped in a Dating Sim Season 2 lands on Crunchyroll with English dub
The Isekai series "Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games Is Tough for Mobs" returned for its second season, premiering on Crunchyroll with both subtitled and English-dubbed versions. The English dub began streaming on Wednesday, July 22, only slightly behind the original Japanese broadcast. Crunchyroll is handling dub direction under Jonathan Rigg, with returning voice cast including Jordan Dash Cruz as Leon, Jim Foronda as Luxion, Jad Saxton as Olivia, Kristen McGuire as Angelica, Sarah Wiedenheft as Marie, Ricco Fajardo as Julius, Ian Sinclair as Jilk, Clifford Chapin as Greg, Justin Briner as Brad, Eric Vale as Chris, Bradley Gareth as Malcolm, Jenny Ledel as Hertrude, Ray Hurd as Balcus, Alex Hom as Daniel, Kelsey Cruz as Carla, Tom Henry as Vince, Kevin D. One Piece Elbaph Arc reveals Knights of God cast and trailer
The One Piece TV anime's Elbaph Arc unveiled a trailer and three new cast members for the Knights of God faction. Sumire Uesaka was cast as Gunko, Hiroki Yasumoto as Sommers, and Shinnosuke Tachibana as Killingham, joining Kenjirō Tsuda as the previously announced Shamrock. The Elbaph Arc debuted in Japan on April 5 and is currently streaming on Crunchyroll. The franchise is operating under a new production schedule announced for 2026, capping annual output at 26 episodes with a three-month production hiatus from January through March. The schedule is intended to allow more content, stronger pacing, and the unique storytelling qualities of animation.
DC Studios and Warner Bros. Animation expand into anime at Annecy
At the Annecy animation festival, DC Studios and Warner Bros. Animation presented a slate of upcoming projects, including DC's first-ever anime series. Titled "Joker: Laugh Riot," the anime is being produced in collaboration with Sola Entertainment and directed by Yasuhiro Aoki. The series follows the Joker on a violent quest for self-discovery after the loss of Batman. Additional projects unveiled included an adaptation of Scott Snyder's "Absolute Batman," a "Krypto" series by C.H. Greenblatt aimed at younger audiences, plus new entries "Mister Miracle" and "Get Jiro," alongside continuing shows "Creature Commandos" and "Batman: Caped Crusader."
Minky Momo returns after 32 years with Ashi Productions OVA
The classic magical girl series Minky Momo is returning with a new OVA titled "Mahou no Princess Minky Momo: Akogare no Yume e – Magokoro no Duo." Produced by Ashi Productions to mark its 50th anniversary, the OVA will open at Shinjuku Wald 9 on November 13, 2026, before a nationwide rollout. The story follows Momo and her animal companions Dettabook, Chamocha, and Pipiru as they help children's dreams come true to save the dreamland "Dejinasaa." The announced cast includes Youki Kurumi as Momo, Ochiai Fukushi as Dettabook, Fujiwara Natsumi as Chamocha, and Kugimiya Rie as Pipiru. Advance tickets with limited-edition flake sticker sheets will go on sale from July 24, 2026.
