Skip and Loafer Season 2 Sets April 2027 Premiere With Teaser Trailer

The Skip and Loafer anime's second season has been dated for an April 2027 broadcast, accompanied by a new teaser PV and staff additions at P.A.Works.

A teaser promotional video for the second season of the television anime Skip and Loafer has been released, announcing an April 2027 broadcast start. The preview shows Mitsumi Iwakura, Sosuke Shima, and their friends roughly six months after entering high school. A commemorative illustration drawn by character designer and chief animation director Manami Ueshita was also unveiled alongside the trailer.

Production team and new credits

P.A.Works continues to handle animation production, with Kotomi Deai returning as director and Yoko Yonaiyama as series composer. Three new main animator credits have been added to the staff: Sara Sakoe, Hiroyuki Honda, and Chieko Sato. The expanded production slate also lists chief animation directors Reina Igawa and Yusuke Inoue, sub-character designer Mio Fujishima, prop designer Satomi Higuchi, 2D design and subtitle design by Ryo Murakami, special effects by Masahiro and Sumie Murakami, color designer Yuko Kobari, art director So Senoo, art setting by Yuta Fujii, director of photography Akane Ueda, 3D director Motonari Ichikawa, editor Ayumi Takahashi, sound director Yo Yamada, music by Michiru and Takatsugu Wakabayashi, and animation producer Teru Yamamoto.

Returning cast

Tomoyo Kurosawa reprises her role as Mitsumi Iwakura, with Akinori Egoshi returning as Sosuke Shima. In comments released with the announcement, Kurosawa said she was excited and restless to see the characters again and stressed the rarity of the same members reuniting several years later. Egoshi noted that the second season mixes elements nurtured in the first, balancing what remains the same with what changes, and that recording captured the difficulty and preciousness of irreversible everyday life.

Source material and first-season context

Skip and Loafer adapts Misaki Takamatsu's manga, serialized in Kodansha's Monthly Afternoon since 2018 with 13 volumes as of April 2026. The story follows a small-town "country prodigy" who graduates at the top of her class and enters a prestigious Tokyo high school. The first television anime season aired from April to June 2023 on TOKYO MX and other channels.
