Hulu has canceled "Love Overboard," the dating reality series executive produced by "Call Her Daddy" host Alex Cooper, after one season. The show premiered on March 26 and ran for a single season before the streamer pulled the plug, with the cancellation reported on August 31, 2026, roughly five months after the debut. Cooper's Unwell Productions banner had been attached as the lead production entity behind the series.
The show's premise and format
"Love Overboard" was hosted by "The Bachelorette" and "The Traitors" alum Gabby Windey and placed 22 contestants aboard a luxury yacht. The singles competed in challenges to earn access to the yacht's amenities while simultaneously pursuing romantic connections, with the format designed so that only one couple could ultimately emerge as winners. The series marked Cooper's first foray into unscripted television as an executive producer.
Cooper's broader slate remains active
Despite the cancellation, Cooper continues to expand her television footprint. Her dating game show with Harry Jowsey, "Let's Marry Harry," debuted on Netflix earlier in August 2026, and she has a scripted series titled "You Deserve to Know" in development at Hulu starring "Vampire Diaries" favorites Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley. Cooper additionally launched "Unwell Winter Games" on YouTube earlier in 2026 and is preparing a "Summer Games" installment scheduled to debut in early September.
Context within Hulu's unscripted lineup
The decision comes as Hulu has renewed other reality staples on its platform, with "Vanderpump Villa" renewed for a fourth season the week prior. Other draws on the service include "The Kardashians" and "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives." Page Six first reported the cancellation of "Love Overboard."
Unresolved questions
It is unclear whether Cooper's "You Deserve to Know" scripted project will continue in development at Hulu following the cancellation of her unscripted series on the same platform.
