"That was a risk I took that paid off," Underwood said. "Huge win there." He said he reversed course because producers shortened The Challenge to roughly six to seven weeks of filming, a window that fit his family life. "My wife is just a rock star, and our kids were a little bit out of that 'up multiple times a night' phase," Underwood told Parade. "So it gave me some space to come out here and compete and go three for three." He framed the season as part of a personal goal of remaining undefeated across reality television appearances.
