Procedure and recovery timeline
Rod Stewart, 81, has cancelled the remaining dates on his 2026 US and Mexico tour after undergoing a coronary stent procedure. The singer confirmed the news on Instagram, saying he will take four weeks off to recover and is "already feeling better and very much on the mend." He thanked the medical staff who treated him and told fans he was "deeply disappointed to miss these shows and sorry to let my fans down," adding that he looked forward to returning to the stage.
What the cancellation covers
His representatives said Stewart was "doing very well" and had "returned to his normal daily activities," but would take four weeks to "recuperate and regain full fitness before returning to the stage," ruling out the continuation of his current tour. Affected performances include shows scheduled across Ohio, Illinois and Mexico, plus a six-night stretch at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, with promoters and venues set to communicate information about individual dates. Two further Colorado dates remain listed for September 2027.
Earlier disruptions on the tour
The announcement follows the postponement of Stewart's Cincinnati and Cleveland shows over medical concerns, with Cleveland's Rocket Arena confirming an August 11 cancellation after doctors advised at least 48 hours of rest. Health issues had already forced the cancellation and postponement of shows in May and June; in May he cancelled Nevada performances citing a sinus infection and vocal rest, and in June he scrapped a San Diego show after being diagnosed with a respiratory infection that caused laryngitis.

Earlier in August, Stewart welcomed his sixth grandchild after his daughter Ruby gave birth to a son named Levi.
