Classic FM Christmas station launches

Classic FM has launched its first dedicated Christmas station, describing it as a new radio service focused on classical Christmas music. The station offers traditional carols, orchestral and choral favorites, and film scores associated with Christmas productions including *Home Alone* and *Love Actually*.
Global’s Music Brands managing director Sally Ardis said the service was intended to provide listeners with a station devoted to seasonal music they know and love. Classic FM managing editor Joseph Zubier called Christmas and classical music “a perfect match” and said the station was the brand’s “most natural next step.”
Aled Jones anchors the launch campaign
The launch campaign features Classic FM presenter and singer Aled Jones emerging from a block of ice before performing “Walking in the Air” from *The Snowman*. The piece uses the song, closely associated with Jones and Christmas, to signal the arrival of the seasonal station.
Jones appears in the campaign as both the station’s presenter and a performer whose seasonal association supplies the creative premise. The reported campaign material does not specify the station’s schedule, availability platforms or operating period.
