Portland singer-songwriter Lexie announced an EP titled San Miguel and shared its lead single Swimming on 21 September 2026. The release follows her debut album Halcyon Days, issued in June and written throughout her cancer treatment and the end of a ten-year marriage, with the new project developed as she reconnected with her body between summer 2025 and spring 2026.

Personal context behind the record

In a press statement, Lexie reflected on rebuilding her sense of desire after illness, saying: "I literally wondered what desire would look again, if I would ever feel it again." She described Swimming as inspired by a turning point in her recovery, when swimming in a river near Lago Maggiore in Italy brought her sexual energy back.

Production and release plans

Swimming was recorded at Raymond Richards' Red Rockets Glare studio in Portland with producer Alex Callenberger and mastered by John McEntire of Tortoise. San Miguel is scheduled for release on 6 November, framing the single as the first public signpost for the EP.
