Radio One and Reach Media have debuted a new syndicated Adult R&B night show titled "The Garden of Love," hosted by R&B artist Raheem DeVaughn. The program launched on Monday, October 12, 2026, airing Sunday through Thursday nights from 7 p.m. to midnight. The show is based at "Majic 102.3" WMMJ in Washington, DC, and at launch was also heard on "Majic 107.5/97.5" WAMJ/WUMJ in Atlanta, "Magic 95.9" WWIN-FM in Baltimore, "Classix 107.9" WPPZ in Philadelphia, and "Kiss 99.3/105.7" WKJS in Richmond. The prior "Love and R&B" show hosted by KG Smooth remains in other markets.

Format and programming concept

The show is described as pairing music with conversation about love and life, offering listeners a nightly place to relax within a community setting. DeVaughn plays soulful slow jams and romantic R&B and opens the mic to listeners for calls, dedications, and "real talk." The format includes open-mic segments for audience interaction alongside the music programming, positioning the program as a community-oriented nightly experience.

DeVaughn's background and positioning

Billed as "The Love King of R&B & Soul," DeVaughn reportedly received his second No. 1 on the Billboard R&B charts with a cover of "You." He has released ten albums and is the founder of the LoveLife Foundation. He spent the past two years hosting "The Original Quiet Storm" on Howard University's 96.3 WHUR in Washington, DC, before joining the new program.

Statements from DeVaughn and Radio One executives

DeVaughn stated, "Grateful to everyone who has supported my radio journey! This new chapter with Urban One is about building a new nighttime syndicated tradition and truly something special for the listeners. The future is bright, and we're just getting started!" Urban One Audio Division Co-President Eddie Harrell Jr. said, "We are thrilled to have Raheem DeVaughn join the Urban One family. He brings an energy, talent set, and connection to our audience that is second to none. The Garden of Love will provide our listeners with a unique experience as they settle in for great music and interaction on a nightly basis." Senior Vice President of Programming Colby Tyner commented, "Raheem DeVaughn brings an incredible passion for R&B and a natural ability to connect with people. With The Garden of Love, we're bringing that connection to nighttime radio through great music and meaningful conversations about love, relationships, and life. We want listeners to have a place to unwind, feel heard and end their day with Raheem."
