Curry's Historic Hall of Fame Exhibit
Stephen Curry will become the first active player to have a dedicated exhibit at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts. The Hall announced "Stephen Curry: Beyond the Arc" on July 21, 2026, with a public opening set for July 24. The feature celebrates the four-time NBA champion, two-time MVP, 12-time All-Star, Olympic gold medalist, and the NBA's career leader in three-pointers made, and is expected to run through the summer of 2027. The exhibit was developed in partnership with Curry's Thirty Ink business team and will include rarely seen video footage, memorabilia, and personal storytelling that traces his path from being overlooked in college to reshaping the modern game.
Curry said being featured while still playing is something he does not take lightly. Hall of Fame President and CEO John Doleva called it a historic moment for the museum and for basketball fans worldwide. Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy said the exhibit is a fitting tribute to a player who has "single-handedly changed the game."
Collier Nears WNBA Season Debut for Lynx
Minnesota Lynx forward Napheesa Collier, a two-time MVP runner-up and 2024 WNBA Defensive Player of the Year, was listed as "probable" on the team's injury report ahead of a July 22 road game against Seattle, the Lynx's final game before the WNBA All-Star break from July 23 to 27. The "probable" designation typically signals roughly a 75% chance of playing. Collier had surgery on both ankles during the offseason after spraining her right ankle in August 2025 and injuring her left during the playoffs that September. She returned to full team practice on July 1 and has spent the past three weeks ramping back up.
The Lynx sit atop the WNBA at 21-6 without her. Collier re-signed on a one-year supermax deal worth $1.4 million. Rookie point guard Olivia Miles, the No. 2 pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft, has been named an All-Star starter in Collier's absence, while veterans Courtney Williams, Kayla McBride, Natasha Howard, and Nia Coffey have steadied the rotation. Coach Cheryl Reeve said "it's still Phee's team."
Ionescu Disputes Reports She Declined All-Star Three-Point Contest
New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu publicly disputed reports that she had been invited to the 2026 WNBA All-Star Three-Point Contest and declined. Participants for the contest were revealed on July 21, and Ionescu's absence, along with that of Caitlin Clark and Minnesota's Kayla McBride, drew attention. After an Instagram graphic referenced the declining reports, Ionescu commented "Lies" on the post, which was subsequently deleted, though screenshots circulated widely on social media. Ionescu is best known for her 2023 three-point challenge performance, when she set a combined NBA-WNBA record with 37 of a possible 40 points.
Her shooting numbers this season are down — 13.8 points per game versus 18.2 last season, with a 28.7% three-point percentage, the lowest of her career — though she missed the early portion of the year and has improved as the season has progressed.
Gilas Pilipinas 3x3 Men Qualify for U23 World Cup
The Philippines men's 3x3 national team qualified for the 2026 FIBA 3x3 U23 World Cup by finishing atop the FIBA 3x3 Nations League Asia 2 Under-21 standings in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. The squad reached five of six stop finals and won three, finishing with 520 points, 50 clear of second-place Japan. Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) Executive Director Erika Dy said the men's achievement ends an eight-year drought in qualifying for the U23 World Cup and mirrors the women's 3x3 team's earlier return to the FIBA 3x3 World Cup this year.
The U23 World Cup is scheduled for September 15-19 in Wuhan, China.
