NBC will air a "Law & Order: SVU" marathon on Sept. 10 featuring three Mariska Hargitay episodes back-to-back, timed to her role hosting the 2026 Emmy Awards. The block begins at 8 p.m. with "Charisma" (originally aired Nov. 16, 2004), followed at 9 p.m. by her 2005 Emmy-winning episode "911," and concludes at 10 p.m. with "Undercover" (originally aired April 15, 2008). Both "Charisma" and "Undercover" earned Hargitay Emmy nominations, while "911" is the episode for which she won the award. Episodes stream the day after their linear debut on Peacock.

Why Hargitay Stands Out

Hargitay has been a central cast member on "SVU" since the series launched in 1999. She has received eight total Emmy nominations for her role as Capt. Olivia Benson, along with two Golden Globe nominations and one Golden Globe win. She has also expanded into executive producing and directing on the series. Beyond "SVU," Hargitay received two additional Emmy nominations in 2026 for the documentary "My Mom Jayne" — one for outstanding documentary or nonfiction special and another for outstanding directing for a documentary/nonfiction program — a broader body of work that distinguishes her Emmy profile heading into the ceremony.

The Emmy Hosting Milestone

The marathon is scheduled four days before the 2026 Emmy Awards, which will air on NBC with Hargitay set to host. She is the first woman to host the annual television awards ceremony in 15 years. NBC framed the special programming as a celebration of Hargitay ahead of that hosting appearance, rather than a generic best-of rerun block.

What Comes Next on the Series

"Law & Order: SVU" will return for its 28th season this fall, beginning Oct. 8. The series is set to air its 600th episode later in 2026. The series is executive produced by Dick Wolf, Michele Fazekas, Hargitay, Ken Brown, Rebecca McGill, Anastasia Puglisi, and Peter Jankowski, and is produced by Universal Television in association with Wolf Entertainment.
