Mackenzie Dern retained the UFC women's strawweight title with a unanimous decision (49-46, 49-46, 48-47) over Canada's Gillian Robertson in the co-main event. Dern controlled the grappling exchanges across 25 minutes and nearly secured a buzzer-beating rear-naked choke at the end of the opening round, fulfilling a fight-week promise to finish the bout inside the distance even though it went the full five rounds.

Significance of the streak

The win marked Makhachev's first defense of the welterweight title he claimed last year after vacating the lightweight crown following his fourth defense there. Makhachev moved up from lightweight, where he had surpassed childhood friend Khabib Nurmagomedov's title-defense mark.
