The Big 12 Conference and its member schools released the 2027 baseball league schedule, with each of the 14 programs set to play 10 of 13 possible opponents for 30 conference games. Conference play is scheduled to begin on March 18 and conclude the weekend of May 21. While most series are slated for Friday through Sunday, games involving BYU and the season's final series are scheduled Thursday through Saturday, and teams may move the March 26-28 series to March 25-27 by mutual agreement.

Tournament venue and postseason context

The 2027 Big 12 Baseball Tournament presented by Allstate will return to Surprise Stadium in Surprise, Arizona, the spring training home of the Kansas City Royals and Texas Rangers, and will be held May 25-29. The top 12 teams in the regular-season standings will compete in the tournament. Kansas won the 2026 Big 12 Baseball Tournament to become the first Big 12 member to win both the regular-season title outright and the tournament trophy in the same season since 2009.

Marquee opening series

The schedule opens March 18-21 with seven three-game series: Arizona at Baylor, Arizona State at Kansas, Kansas State at Oklahoma State, Texas Tech at BYU, TCU at UCF, Cincinnati at Utah, and West Virginia at Houston. Houston's series against the Mountaineers, the reigning College World Series participant, opens the Cougars' first schedule under new head coach Will Davis and features a roster that includes 38 newcomers, with a transfer class ranked No. 8 nationally in WAR added by D1Baseball.

Conference travel demands

Several programs have highlighted the road intensity of the 2027 slate. Kansas State's third-year head coach Pete Hughes described the schedule as "one of the most challenging road schedules in the Big 12," with the Wildcats opening league play at Oklahoma State on March 19 and later traveling to Arizona State, TCU, Cincinnati, and Kansas for the Dillons Sunflower Showdown on May 14-16. K-State is scheduled to play 15 of its 30 conference games at Tointon Family Stadium in Manhattan.

Returning personnel and program notes

K-State finished 2026 at 30-27, securing its fourth consecutive 30-win campaign and matching the longest such streak in school history since 1988-91, and returns six letterwinners including right-handed pitcher Donte Lewis, ranked No. 46 on D1Baseball's 2027 MLB Top 100 College Prospects list. West Virginia will split its 30 conference games evenly between home and road, opening league play at Houston on March 19-21 before hosting reigning conference champion Kansas on Easter weekend, March 25-27, and welcoming Arizona State to Morgantown for the first time on April 9-11.

Next milestone

Conference play is scheduled to begin on March 18, 2027, with the Big 12 Baseball Tournament presented by Allstate set for May 25-29, 2027, at Surprise Stadium in Surprise, Arizona.
