What changed

Poco has expanded its M-series lineup in India with the launch of the M8 Power, a budget-tier smartphone whose defining features are an 8,000mAh Silicon-Carbon battery and a large high-refresh-rate AMOLED display. The device is positioned under a "Power Your Binge" marketing pitch aimed at users with extended screen time, and it will be sold exclusively through Flipkart starting August 7, 2026.
Battery and charging
The M8 Power carries what Poco describes as one of the largest batteries in a mainstream Indian smartphone, paired with 45W wired fast charging and 22.5W wired reverse charging over USB-C. Poco says the bundled charger can deliver roughly eight hours of usage from an eight-minute top-up, and the battery is rated for up to three days of use. Despite the cell size, the device measures 169.70 x 79.14 x 8.4mm and weighs 225 grams.
Display and silicon
Up front, the phone carries a 6.83-inch AMOLED Eye-Care panel with a 2396 x 1080 resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, a 240Hz touch sampling rate, 1,800 nits of peak brightness, DCI-P3 color coverage, and TÜV Eye Protection. The two sources slightly diverge on the exact screen diagonal: one lists 6.83 inches while the other rounds the figure to 6.9 inches. Powering the device is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset built on a 4nm process, paired with LPDDR4X RAM, up to 8GB of virtual RAM expansion, and UFS 2.2 storage in 6GB+128GB and 8GB+128GB variants.
Software and durability
The M8 Power ships with Xiaomi's HyperOS 3 layered on Android 16, with Poco committing to four years of Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates. Durability features include an IP65 rating and Gorilla Glass 7i on the front. The camera setup pairs a 50MP dual AI rear array with an 8MP selfie camera.
Pricing and availability
Poco has set a special launch price of Rs 21,999 for the 6GB+128GB variant against an MRP of Rs 24,999, while the 8GB+128GB version is listed at Rs 24,999 against an MRP of Rs 27,999. Buyers can opt for a nine-month no-cost EMI starting at Rs 2,444 per month. Sales open on Flipkart at noon on August 7, 2026, and the sources note that the exact MRP-based price without launch offers had not been disclosed at the time of writing.
