Bybit's Perp Options Go Live With SpaceX and Nvidia

Bybit switched on Perp Options on Sept. 17, 2026, billing the product as the first options contracts written on TradFi perpetuals and opening with SpaceX and Nvidia as the two underlying assets. Settlement runs in USDT, and the contracts trade continuously, with no exchange opening bell and no weekend closure, according to the exchange's announcement carried in distributed releases.

The launch positions the Dubai-based exchange to give traders US-style equity options exposure without a traditional brokerage account and outside standard market hours. A contract multiplier of one replaces the conventional 100-share minimum, allowing fractional lot sizes, and positions sit inside Bybit's Unified Trading Account alongside Spot and Futures, qualifying for Portfolio Margin offsets.

Product Structure and Trader Targets

Beyond outright calls and puts, Bybit's Perp Options support spreads, straddles, covered calls and other combination structures from day one. Portfolio Margin lets the new positions net against related holdings, with the exchange framing that treatment as a way to trim total margin across asset classes.

The exchange is pitching the product at four overlapping audiences: crypto-native traders seeking TradFi options without opening a separate brokerage, options specialists from traditional venues who want a market that does not close at the bell, macro traders putting directional views on global assets through an options wrapper, and existing TradFi perpetuals users who can write covered calls or protective puts onto their existing positions.

Next Listings and Roadmap Signals

Bybit named Tesla, QQQ, SOXL and Micron as candidates for the next wave of listings, indicating how it plans to broaden the underlying roster beyond the opening pair. The exchange has framed Perp Options as part of what it calls its ambition to build a "New Financial Platform," tying continuous trading, fractional sizing and unified account treatment together as a single product pitch.

Separate SpaceX Market Move

Separately, SpaceX shares (ticker SPCX) fell nearly 2% on Friday, paring the stock's gain for the week to around 1%, as investors weighed a delay to the company's first orbital Starship test flight, which slipped to Sept. 28. Retail investors were reported selling shares into the slippage, marking a same-day market reaction distinct from the derivatives launch that also featured SpaceX as an underlying asset.
