Chery Q debut set for Pakistan Auto Show 2026
Chery Master Pakistan has confirmed that its new all-electric vehicle, the Chery Q, will officially debut at the Pakistan Auto Show (PAPS) 2026 on September 18, where the company will also reveal pricing and booking details. The automaker is positioning the model as an urban-focused electric car aimed at everyday commuting and as an additional household vehicle in the Pakistani market.
Battery, range and dimensions
The Chery Q comes equipped with a 42.7 kWh battery and offers a claimed driving range of up to 400 kilometers under the NEDC cycle, with stated efficiency of up to 9.4 kilometers per unit. The vehicle measures 4,195 mm in length on a 2,700 mm wheelbase, providing a compact footprint while maintaining relatively spacious interior dimensions.
Technology and features
The Chery Q will feature Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems with 21 assistance functions, along with Automatic Parking Assist, a 15.6-inch 2.5K display, mobile connectivity, and Vehicle-to-Load functionality. Chery Master Pakistan is framing the model around Pakistan's growing rooftop solar base, promoting the EV as a way for households to use surplus solar electricity for transportation.
Solar pairing and running-cost framing
According to estimates shared by Chery Master Pakistan, a conventional petrol vehicle traveling around 20,000 kilometers annually could consume approximately Rs. 488,000 in fuel. Under a real-world efficiency assumption of around 7.2 kilometers per unit, the company's projected annual energy cost for the Chery Q falls to roughly Rs. 30,000 for households able to charge using surplus solar power. The company noted that Pakistan imported around 17 GW of solar PV capacity in 2024, creating a growing base of households that can potentially use self-generated electricity for EV charging.
Pakistan EV market backdrop
According to company figures cited in the announcement, Pakistan's new-energy vehicle segment grew by 392% during FY2025-26 and now accounts for around 15% of the country's overall automobile market. The Chery Q launch is intended to expand Chery Master Pakistan's new-energy lineup and add another all-electric option to that market. A separate Jetour announcement on the same day covered the launch of the T1, T1 i-DM and T2 XWD SUVs and the start of local CKD assembly of the T2 i-DM plug-in hybrid, but concerns different models and a different automaker rather than the Chery Q debut.
