L&T Semiconductor Technologies Limited (LTSCT), a wholly owned subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro, unveiled 40 semiconductor products at SEMICON India 2026 under the theme "Silicon to Systems: Building the Ecosystem." The company presented technologies spanning secure identity, intelligent surveillance, IP cameras and communication solutions, and said the portfolio is built around three priorities: national security, digital sovereignty and energy resilience. LTSCT said the unveiling aligns with the Semicon 2.0 initiative and its role within the India Semiconductor Mission's push to build a "trusted, self-reliant chip ecosystem."
First silicon carbide platform and an India-designed BLDC motor controller
Two milestones anchor the showcase. The first is LTSCT's high-performance 1200V SiC MOSFET platform, described as the company's first silicon carbide product platform and engineered for next-generation power conversion applications such as EV fast chargers, microgrids, solid-state transformers and traction inverters. The second is the tape-out of a fully designed-in-India BLDC motor controller, which integrates advanced protection features and a flexible architecture intended to support multiple product models and reduce bill-of-materials costs. The Power Discrete and High-Power showcases also feature LTSCT's first in-house SiC power modules and devices alongside MOSFETs, diodes and bridge rectifiers.
Leadership framing and ecosystem positioning
LTSCT Chief Executive Sandeep Kumar said the subsidiary is intended to be "one of [the India Semiconductor Mission's] key pillars," bringing "decades of L&T's engineering discipline to a sector that will define India's technological sovereignty for the foreseeable future." The company's commentary positions the launch as a contribution to the broader Semicon 2.0 effort, which it says is aimed at moving semiconductor designs from innovation to scalable, market-ready products through ecosystem collaboration.
Other segments in the showcased portfolio
Live demonstrations covered Analog and Mixed Signal, Compute, Connectivity and RF. Analog and Mixed Signal included an integrated BLDC controller and a USB C GaN charger; Compute included an indigenous Vision Camera SoC with on-device AI acceleration and a Secure Identity Platform for applications such as e-passports and payment cards. Connectivity and RF featured four indigenously designed modules for smart metering, automotive and digital payments, including an LCC43 Dynamic QR and Soundbox proof of concept tied to NPCI's proposed Trusted Device Layer.
