Calculating the consonant total
Personality Number uses the consonants in the full birth name. Every included Latin letter receives its Pythagorean value from 1 through 9. The page totals each name part, reduces it, and combines those reduced part values. Vowels are displayed as excluded, allowing the result to be checked against the related Soul Urge calculation rather than treated as a black box.
Y defaults to a consonant because that is how many English-language calculators handle an unspecified name. The checkbox can move all Y letters to the vowel set. This is a disclosed simplification when one name contains Y with different pronunciations. The calculation audit makes that tradeoff visible and never claims to infer pronunciation automatically.
Why spelling and normalization change the result
The same person can have a birth certificate name, a current legal name, a nickname, and multiple transliterations. This tool asks for the full name at birth because that is the input convention used by the reviewed method. It cannot verify identity or choose among culturally appropriate name forms. A spelling change is a real arithmetic change, not a mysterious energetic shift.
Latin accents normalize to base letters, punctuation carries no value, and unsupported characters are reported. The page avoids automatic cross-script transliteration because a machine-selected spelling could produce a confident but arbitrary number. Users working with another writing system should identify the exact romanization convention they intend to study and retain it when comparing results.
Personality language has strict boundaries
Numerology sources often describe Personality Number as the impression someone presents outwardly. That is a symbolic metaphor, not a validated measure of temperament, reputation, or social behavior. Real impressions vary by context, relationship, culture, and time. The displayed theme should invite reflection rather than overwrite direct observation or another person’s account.
The entered name stays in the browser.
