A Boutique Retreat in the Heart of Old Istanbul

Hotel Arcadia Blue Istanbul.jpg

Hotel Arcadia Blue sits in the very center of Istanbul, on İmran Öktem Caddesi in the Fatih district. After a comprehensive renovation, the property welcomed guests back through its doors in May 2013, emerging as a contemporary boutique hotel within the storied Sultanahmet quarter. The address places travelers directly inside the peninsula that has defined the city for centuries.

Where Sultanahmet Meets Scandinavian Restraint

The hotel's design tells a story of contrasts. Norm Architects, working in a contemporary Scandinavian register, shaped a modernistic, elegantly lean interior that still feels anchored to Sultanahmet. A warm grey-beige palette flows through the property, layered with Savannah Grey marble, walnut woodwork, soft textiles, and turquoise accents pulled together with patterned wallpaper. On the front, turquoise Konya-series Gorbon ceramic tiling greets arrivals and continues into the flooring, while the same handcrafted ceramic tiles appear in the guest bathrooms.

54 Rooms with a Sultanahmet View

Most of the 54 Sultanahmet rooms, which include 18 suites, face outward toward the city's most photographed skyline. From these windows, guests look across theHagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the Bosphorus, and the Marmara Sea. Inside, custom-designed woodwork sets the tone: armchairs and sofas in the lobby, the VIP lounge, the Business Centre, and the rooms are all selected from Nurus, while outdoor seating features Philippe Starck-designed Kartell pieces. Turquoise accents reappear on bed textiles, in hand-made fine glassware at the restaurant, and across carefully placed accessories.

Lobby, Lounge, and a Top-Floor Restaurant

Wooden and mirror-coated vertical panels define the lobby, concealing a mezzanine Business Centre behind their reflective surface. These same panels reappear at the entrance to the restaurant, which is positioned on the top floor and framed as a quiet finale to the interior journey. The arrangement creates a natural flow from arrival through the lounge spaces up to the dining level.

Stepping Out into Sultanahmet

From İmran Öktem Caddesi 1, the hotel is within a short walk of the ancient Sultanahmet District and sits a stone's throw from the Sultan Ahmed Blue Mosque. The wider Fatih neighborhood extends in every direction, layering markets, mosques, and sea views around the property.

Practical Considerations

Some details, including room configurations and on-site amenities, may change over time, so it is worth confirming current offerings directly with the hotel before arrival.
