Morgan Stanley on Monday reiterated its "Overweight" rating on Meta Platforms and raised its price target to $820 from $775 ahead of Meta's scheduled third-quarter earnings release after Wednesday's close. The upgrade was reported by CNBC and tracked across coverage on Oct. 19, the same trading day that Meta shares closed nearly 1% lower.

The bank's note distinguished between Muse's download volume and ongoing engagement, a gap the firm said would need to be closed by additional product innovation. According to Morgan Stanley, Muse continues to attract about 300,000 U.S. downloads daily, yet 14-day user retention remains around 20%. Daily active users have not been scaling as quickly as installs, a pattern the firm characterized as unsurprising given the early stage of the agentic AI market. Meta launched Muse in September and last week also introduced its Muse Wonder models, which are aimed at more complex personal and professional AI tasks.
Q3 earnings loom as AI spending comes into focus
