The Odyssey approaches $200M North American milestone

The Wednesday take was reported as $18.07 million by Koimoi and $18.05 million by Gulf News, the latter drawing on Deadline for a 16 percent drop from Tuesday's $21.4 million. Koimoi described the Wednesday as the second-biggest of Nolan's career outside the Batman films and the biggest non-opening Wednesday of 2026, ahead of Toy Story 5's $14 million, and noted that a seven-day arrival at $200 million would make The Odyssey the second-fastest R-rated release to reach that mark.
The film was running well ahead of Nolan's previous R-rated historical epic at the same stage of release. Gulf News reported that Oppenheimer had taken $10.6 million on its first Wednesday and stood at $117.8 million domestically after six days, figures that put The Odyssey roughly 54 percent ahead of its predecessor.
Global opening sets fresh Nolan benchmarks

The Week added that The Odyssey set the highest-grossing IMAX opening in Indian box office history, surpassing Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, and noted that the film was only the second ever to earn more than $50 million worldwide from IMAX screens in a single weekend.
Moana edges toward The Scorpion King's domestic mark
Disney's live-action Moana was less than $2 million short of the $91.05 million North American lifetime of Dwayne Johnson's The Scorpion King, Koimoi reported, citing Box Office Mojo. Koimoi tallied the film at $89.8 million domestically after a $2.5 million second Wednesday that fell 42.1 percent week on week, and projected a domestic finish of $120 million to $135 million. Moana had already cleared The Scorpion King's $180.6 million worldwide total, Koimoi added, with its worldwide gross standing at $186.1 million and tracking toward the $200 million global milestone. The film was released on July 10.
Minions & Monsters targets $400M worldwide and Jurassic Park III
Minions & Monsters, released July 1, was within reach of the $400 million worldwide mark, Koimoi reported. Its 20-day domestic cumulative stood at $143.9 million after a $2.3 million fourth Wednesday that fell 27.8 percent week on week, which Koimoi described as the second-lowest fourth Wednesday in the Despicable Me and Minions franchises. With $222.06 million international and a worldwide total of $365.9 million, the film was less than $5 million short of Jurassic Park III's $368.8 million global lifetime, the lowest-grossing entry in the Jurassic Park franchise per Koimoi.
