Disney Celebrates America marathon draws nearly 50 million viewers

Disney's 24-hour "Disney Celebrates America" programming event on July 4 reached nearly 50 million viewers across the company's portfolio of platforms, including ABC, Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu. Nashville's Star-Spangled Bash leads the primetime lineup
The three-hour live special "Nashville's Star-Spangled Bash" delivered 5.435 million Total Viewers and a 0.83 rating among Adults 18-49. Other segments tallied 3.88 million viewers for "America the Beautiful" and 5.017 million for the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest, the latter of which tripled its prior-year audience. The fireworks segment peaked at 6.165 million viewers in primetime.
Disney outpaces NBC on July 4 primetime for the first time since 2010
The marathon's primetime performance enabled Disney to outdraw NBC in the July 4 primetime slot for the first time since 2010. NBC's competing Macy's July 4 Fireworks Special drew 5.1 million viewers during its original 8-10 p.m. window, up 42% from the prior year and the highest total for that special since 2018, though still trailing Disney's fireworks peak.
Star Wars: Visions heads to Disney+ in August
Disney released the official trailer for "Star Wars: Visions Presents - The Ninth Jedi," scheduled to premiere August 5 on Disney+ and Hulu. The title continues the studio's animated anthology output on the streaming platform, joining a slate of forthcoming originals disclosed in early July.
Camp Rock 3 and Dragon Striker Season 2 expand the Disney+ pipeline
"Camp Rock 3" is set to premiere August 13 on Disney Channel and be available the next day on Disney+, accompanied by an "All Roads Lead to Camp" bus tour visiting cities across the United States beginning July 3. Separately, "Dragon Striker" Season 2, an 11-episode order, was unveiled during a panel at Anime Expo in Los Angeles and is slated for an early 2027 debut.
Social engagement and broader July ratings context
The marathon generated 1.2 million social media interactions, making it the most social non-sports program on July 4. Disney's viewership milestones were tallied against a heavy sports week that included FOX Sports' 26.395 million viewers for the USMNT Round of 32 win and 21.742 million for the Mexico-England Round of 16 match, as well as 33.086 million for the Belgium-USMNT group-stage broadcast.
