Walt Disney Imagineering will roll out "Alien Swirling Saucers: Lilypad's Jams" at Toy Story Land in Disney's Hollywood Studios starting Friday, September 25, 2026. The overlay installs Lilypad, a frog-shaped smart tablet from "Toy Story 5," as the resident DJ of the attraction, with a new soundtrack of reimagined Toy Story classics and original songs written specifically for the ride. Disney has not announced an end date for the overlay.
New soundtrack spans pop, country, EDM, and alt-rock
Imagineers traveled to Nashville to record the refreshed soundtrack with "world-class musicians," weaving together reimagined Toy Story tunes such as "You've Got a Friend in Me," "We Belong Together," and "I Can't Let You Throw Yourself Away," alongside brand-new compositions including an in-universe theme song for Pizza Planet. Geoff Line, Senior Story Lead at Walt Disney Imagineering, said the collaboration with Pixar Animation Studios allowed the team to "expand their stories," adding that Imagineers "played with these toys as kids" and now "get to play with them as Imagineers."
Off-ride entertainment expands the DJ Lilypad experience
Beyond the ride vehicles, DJ Lilypad will entertain guests throughout Andy's Backyard with a drawing app, puzzles, and "home videos" of Toy Story characters, along with a new banner installed below the attraction's marquee. Concept art indicates the marquee will carry the Alien Swirling Saucers: Lilypad's Jams name, and a separate July permit filing had already foreshadowed new exterior signage at the attraction.
