Emma Slater and her professional partner Jackson Olson were eliminated from Dancing With the Stars season 35 during the Oct. 27 episode, which also eliminated Tyler Cameron and Sharna Burgess. The double elimination ended the couple’s run after seven weeks of competition.

Partners drew the night’s scores

Slater and Olson performed a contemporary routine to Frank Sinatra’s “That’s Life” during the episode’s Horror Movie theme. The judging panel, consisting of Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough, Bruno Tonioli and guest judge Shirley Ballas, awarded the pair a combined score of 35 out of 40.

Boyfriends responded after the elimination

Alan Bersten, Slater’s boyfriend and fellow professional dancer, wrote on Instagram that he was proud of her and praised Olson’s performances. Bersten and Slater made their relationship public in early 2025. He had been eliminated from the season in September alongside celebrity partner Giada De Laurentiis.

Olson’s girlfriend, Maggie Sajak, also posted support on Instagram after his elimination. In a message accompanying a selfie, she wrote: “So proud of you @jacksonolson!!” She and Olson had been dating for six months.

Olson reflected on the competition

After his elimination, Olson said he had wanted to appear on the show since the previous year and described Emma as an “amazing partner.” His exit also meant he would not compete on the planned Disney-themed night on Nov. 2.

Follow-up signals

The season is scheduled to continue with Disney night on Nov. 2, with the remaining celebrity and professional pairs competing for another week’s advancement.
