Reborn as a Space Mercenary Anime Unveils Main Trailer, Visual and Two New Cast Members Ahead of October 4 Debut

The official website for the "Reborn as a Space Mercenary: I Woke Up Piloting the Strongest Starship!" TV anime unveiled its main promotional video and key visual on September 15, roughly three weeks before the series' scheduled October 4 premiere. The trailer previews the anime's opening theme song "UNSTOPPABLE" by rock band FLOW and showcases the sci-fi isekai's space battles and ensemble cast. Metal band ASTERISM will perform the ending theme song "MY WAY."

Newly announced cast additions

Two cast members were confirmed alongside the trailer: Kana Ueda as Mei and Saori Onishi as Shoko. The additions expand the voice roster previously assembled for the series, which is directed by Norihiko Nagahama at studio A-CAT with series composition by Takamitsu Kōno, character designs by Masami Sueoka and music by Kenta Higashiohji. Sound direction is handled by Jin Aketagawa.

Broadcast and streaming details

The anime will debut on October 4 on Tokyo MX at 9:30 p.m. JST, with Crunchyroll confirmed as a simulcast partner for audiences outside Japan. Seven Seas Entertainment publishes both the original light novels by Ryuto and Tetsuhiro Nabeshima and Shunichi Matsui's manga adaptation in English, providing source material for the adaptation.

Other Fall 2026 anime developments

Separately, Crunchyroll confirmed its wider Fall 2026 anime lineup, encompassing a mix of returning series and new debuts scheduled for October. Elsewhere on the same day, the second anime season of "A Returner's Magic Should Be Special" released a new promotional video and main key visual, confirming an October 7 premiere on Fuji TV's "+Ultra" block and a separate streaming rollout via d Anime Store, U-NEXT and other Japanese services before streaming on Crunchyroll. FLOW also performs that series' opening theme song "Sorrow," with krage performing the ending theme "Everlasting," and Taishi Kawaguchi returning to direct at Arvo Animation.
