Publisher iam8bit and developer Coin Crew Games announced that Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School will launch on November 5 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store, with availability via Game Pass also confirmed. The PlayStation 5 version was newly added as part of the announcement.
Game overview and new features
Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School is the sequel to the award-winning Escape Academy, which the publisher said has been enjoyed by over four million players. The sequel is described as the first open-world escape room game, with a living campus serving as a hub connecting handcrafted puzzle rooms between classes.
The game supports online and split-screen couch co-op and adds an optional No-Timer Mode for players who prefer to puzzle at their own pace. An all-new narrative centers on a dark mystery surrounding the school's founding, alongside character-driven side quests and returning faces from the first game.
Demo and PC specifications
A demo is available now on Steam, where the publisher has also listed minimum and recommended PC specifications. The minimum requirements call for Windows 11, an Intel Core i5-8400 processor, 16 GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050Ti (4 GB) graphics card, while the recommended tier lists an AMD Ryzen 7 2700 eight-core processor, 16 GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 with 4 GB of memory.
Follow-up signals
The next verifiable milestone is the November 5 launch across the announced platforms, with a Steam demo already live for players to test prior to release.
