Shaboozey expands Western mythology on new album

Shaboozey released his album "The Outlaw Cherie Lee & Other Western Tales" as a cinematic Western concept project centred on femininity and Black history in the American West. The record features guests including Leon Bridges, Kehlani, Gunna, Orville Peck, Teyana Taylor and Sam Elliott, with narration by Jamie Foxx, and is accompanied by a comic book illustrated by Sean Damien Hill and Andrew Dalhouse. Chartmetric research prepared for The Tennessean found Shaboozey with the most racially diverse audience among top-selling male country artists, including 25% African American listeners, alongside listeners primarily based in Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta and Nashville. K. Michelle announces her first country album

The R&B singer and "Real Housewives of Atlanta" cast member K. Michelle announced her first country album, "Jesus & Whiskey," scheduled for October 16, 2026, via BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville. Produced by Kristian Bush of Sugarland, the nine-track project includes "Yodel," "Blame Tennessee" and "Jack Daniels," with the title track released as the lead single. Riley Green released "Imagine That" as the latest single from his fourth studio album "That's Just Me," due September 18 through Nashville Harbor Records & Entertainment. Tucker Wetmore released his six-song "Sunburn Mixtape" via Back Blocks Music/MCA/Mercury Records, pairing the new focus track "Crazy to Yourself" with previously released cuts including his current Country radio single "Who Told You That."

Cross-genre collaborations push country boundaries

Stephen Wilson Jr. and Miranda Lambert released their duet "Hardwired," which interpolates The Pixies' alternative rock song "Where Is My Mind?" and was co-written with Pixies frontman Frank Black, Adam Good and Jesse Frasure. The pairing was described by both artists as a meeting point between Wilson Jr.'s Americana-rooted songwriting and Lambert's vocal presence.
