A 21-Year Wait Ends with a November 27 Release

A vibrant nightclub scene with a keyboard and microphone on stage, ready for a live performance.

Ween announced on October 6, 2026 that "Shinola, Vol. 2," a 21-track collection of rarities, outtakes and B-sides, will arrive November 27 via Rhino Records as part of Record Store Day Black Friday. The announcement, shared on the band's social channels, comes more than two decades after the July 19, 2005 release of "Shinola, Vol. 1," which gathered 12 tracks including "Gabrielle," "Boys Club," "Did You See Me?" and "Monique The Freak." Guitarist Dean Ween (Mickey Melchiondo) began assembling the new tracklist over a decade ago, according to the announcement reported by Glide and JamBase.

Limited Brown-Vinyl Edition and Wider CD Release

The Record Store Day listing, cited by JamBase, identifies the vinyl edition as an RSD Black Friday exclusive pressed on "Just Brown" vinyl and limited to 9,200 copies at participating independent record stores. A single-CD edition will be available at general retail outlets where CDs are sold. Reporting from Dead Set Live and The Sound of Music Guide framed the release in similar terms, with each confirming the limited brown-vinyl edition and the CD release.

Fan Favorites and Vault Selections on the 21-Track Sequence

The full tracklist, printed in both the Glide and JamBase stories, runs from "Kim Smoltz" through "The Belvodine" and spans Ween's recording career with rare B-sides and previously unreleased outtakes. Several selections receive their first official release, among them "Kim Smoltz," "She Caught My Fancy," "Weed Whore" and "The Belvodine." Opening track "Kim Smoltz" was previewed with audio in Ween's announcement; JamBase notes the song dates to sessions for the band's 1997 album "The Mollusk," was left off that record, circulated among fans and made its live debut on February 13, 2016 during the band's reunion run at the 1st Bank Center in Broomfield, Colorado.

Archival Push Continues with 'Boognish Provides'

The "Shinola, Vol. 2" news follows Ween's recent unveiling of "Boognish Provides," an archival collection documenting seven concerts from the 1994–95 "Chocolate & Cheese" tour, scheduled for October 16 as a 14-CD boxed set alongside a double-LP selection of performances, per JamBase.

Broader Record Store Day Black Friday Slate

Ultimate Classic Rock's October 6, 2026 rundown of RSD Black Friday rock releases confirms that Bruce Springsteen, the Eagles, Iron Maiden, Motörhead and George Harrison are among the acts with exclusive titles due November 27, 2026. The Ween entry is distinctive within that slate for capping a 21-year gap since the original "Shinola" compilation.
