Triumph expands Red Bull Romaniacs entry
Triumph is returning to the Red Bull Romaniacs hard enduro event in 2026 with a larger team, fielding three riders across two Adventure classes aboard near-standard Tiger 900 Rally Pro motorcycles. The British brand made its debut in the event's Adventure classes in 2025, with Jonny Walker finishing second overall in the Adventure Ultimate class after fighting back from an early setback, and Sam Sunderland dominating Adventure Lite by winning every off-road stage and taking the class win by more than four hours.
Rider line-up and class assignments
For 2026, Walker returns to Adventure Ultimate aiming to improve on his runner-up finish, while Sunderland moves up into the more competitive Adventure Core category. Joining him there is five-time Enduro World Champion Ivan Cervantes, who is returning to Red Bull Romaniacs for the first time in over a decade. Cervantes already has off-road victories on the Tiger 900 Rally Pro at the 1000 Dunas, Baja Aragón and Bassella Race, adding experience to Triumph's entry.
Near-standard Tiger 900 Rally Pro preparation
Triumph says the motorcycles remain remarkably close to showroom specification, receiving only minimal modifications including suspension tweaks and a handful of upgraded components, underlining the firm's confidence in the bike's standard off-road capability. Walker, a two-time Romaniacs winner in the event's traditional hard enduro classes, said there was unfinished business after his 2025 runner-up finish. Sunderland, stepping up from Adventure Lite, said the new class adds another level of difficulty against stronger competition.
Event schedule and venue
The 2026 Red Bull Romaniacs gets underway in Sibiu, Romania, with a city prologue on 28 July, followed by four days of riding in the Carpathian Mountains running through to 1 August. The Triumph entry is split across the event's Adventure categories, distinct from its traditional hard enduro classes.
