A first for FSU Athletics

Florida State men's basketball unveiled a multi-year jersey patch partnership with Tampa-based cybersecurity company ReliaQuest on August 14, 2026, marking the first such agreement in the history of FSU Athletics. The ReliaQuest logo will appear on all Seminoles game jerseys beginning with the 2026-27 season.
Building on an existing relationship
The patch deal extends an academic partnership announced in April between ReliaQuest and Florida State, when the company committed a $1.5 million philanthropic investment — the largest gift FSU has received supporting AI and cybersecurity. That collaboration created the annual ReliaQuest Innovation Challenge for faculty research and the ReliaQuest Interdisciplinary Digital Badge Program in Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity, which provides Florida State students with mentorship and training from ReliaQuest professionals.
What both sides said
Head coach Luke Loucks, preparing for his second season leading the program, highlighted the personal ties behind the deal. Vice President and Director of Athletics Michael Alford framed it as a milestone reflecting momentum in the men's basketball program. ReliaQuest founder and CEO Brian Murphy, an FSU class of 2000 graduate, university trustee, and 2022 Alumni Hall of Fame inductee, said the partnership supports the company's effort to raise awareness of cybersecurity career opportunities. Full financial terms were not disclosed; Yahoo Sports reported that Tomahawk Nation has filed a public-records request for the contract details.
What remains uncertain
The duration, signing bonus, and annual value of the jersey patch agreement were not announced. Independent confirmation of the contract's full scope is pending the records request filed by Tomahawk Nation.
Follow-up signals
The patch will debut on game jerseys during the 2026-27 season, with the program's upcoming schedule and roster set to provide the first on-court visual test of the new uniform look.
