The deal
Ode with Anthropic, an enterprise AI transformation venture backed by Anthropic alongside Blackstone, Hellman & Friedman, Goldman Sachs and Sequoia Capital, announced on August 20, 2026 that it has acquired AI consultancy Casper Studios. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Seeking Alpha reported the deal earlier in the day, citing The Information, while citybiz, PYMNTS and Crypto Briefing also confirmed the acquisition on the same date.
What Ode and Casper each bring
Ode focuses on complex, custom-engineered AI projects for large organizations, while Casper Studios specializes in building the skills, connectors and contextual capabilities that allow businesses to use Claude across a wider range of business functions. Casper's work spans custom applications built on top of large language models, user-interface design for AI tools, and LLM-based systems tailored to specific business contexts, giving Ode a design-forward layer to complement its engineering bench, which was reinforced by the May 2026 acquisition of Fractional AI.
How the combined operation is meant to work
The two companies said they had already collaborated on multiple client engagements before deciding to combine their operations. Their work with operational intelligence platform Sphera, which focuses on risk, safety and sustainability, illustrates the model: Ode developed a custom internal tool using Anthropic models that the companies said reduced bottlenecks associated with time-intensive operational tasks by 70%, while Casper separately automated processes affecting Sphera's customer support, consulting and project planning teams. Both teams developed their solutions within the same Claude Code setup, allowing tools created by one group to be used by the other without rebuilding the underlying development environment.
Why the acquisition is happening now
CEOs face a long tail of AI engineering needs and require a partner that can help them realize what frontier AI can do to accelerate their business, according to Chris Taylor, CEO of Ode with Anthropic. Jay Singh, CEO and co-founder of Casper Studios, said the company was built to help organizations adopt AI quickly, effectively, and in a way that establishes real trust, and that joining Ode would let it do more for its clients. The deal follows Ode's launch on July 15, 2026, at a valuation of roughly $1.5 billion, and extends a strategy of absorbing specialized teams to bolster engineering capacity as enterprises move from individual AI experiments to embedding AI in day-to-day operations at scale.
