Battery capacity anchors the Poco X8

Poco's global launch of the X8 is built around an unusually large 8,340mAh silicon-carbon battery, which the company says delivers more than two days of use on a single charge and retains at least 80% of its capacity after 1,600 charging cycles. The cell supports 67W HyperCharge wired charging and 22.5W wired reverse charging, allowing the handset to power other electronics, and has received a TÜV SÜD 5-star Battery Performance Certification. Xiaomi/Poco cites the 8,340mAh pack as representing a 63.2% capacity increase over its predecessor.
Display, chipset and memory configuration
The Poco X8 uses a 6.83-inch AMOLED panel with a 2,772×1,280 (1.5K) resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate and a claimed 3,500 nits of peak brightness, alongside 3,840Hz PWM dimming and TÜV Rheinland eye-care certifications. Under the hood, Qualcomm's 4nm Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 octa-core chipset is paired with up to 12GB of RAM, with storage options spanning 128GB (UFS 2.2) and 256GB (UFS 3.1). The phone ships with Xiaomi HyperOS 3 atop Android 16 and integrates Google Gemini, Circle to Search, AI Erase, and Xiaomi's HyperIsland interface, plus offline communication without conventional network coverage.
Rugged design and durability testing
Poco positions the X8 as a rugged mid-ranger, carrying IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ingress ratings and a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 front panel rated to withstand a three-meter fall. According to Poco, the device has also passed a 72-hour immersion test at a depth of two meters, and it debuts a dedicated Underwater camera mode for submerged photography. Despite the reinforced build and large battery, the handset weighs 223 grams and measures 163.45×78.27×8.6mm.
Cameras, connectivity and hardware extras
Imaging is handled by a 50-megapixel main rear sensor with optical image stabilization, a 2-megapixel depth camera and a 16-megapixel front camera, with video capped at 1080p/30fps on both sides; the rear setup also supports electronic image stabilization and Dual Video capture. Connectivity includes 5G SA/NSA, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, and an infrared blaster, while additional features cover dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, an in-display fingerprint sensor, and a 300% volume boost mode.

Poco is selling the X8 in black, white and orange. India pricing has been set at $269 for 6GB/128GB, $299 for 8GB/256GB and $349 for 12GB/256GB ahead of a September 4 launch, while an Indian X8 Power variant with a 9,000mAh battery is planned alongside it.
