Sales milestone and launch context

Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have confirmed that Pokémon Pokopia has sold more than 5 million copies worldwide, a figure that combines physical and digital versions and is counted as sales to consumers rather than shipments. The Switch 2 exclusive launched on March 5, 2026, meaning the milestone was reached just over four months after release.

Earlier shipment figures from Nintendo's financials

In Nintendo's most recent quarterly results, Pokopia was the only first-party Switch 2 title to exceed 1 million shipments in the quarter, recording 1.27 million units, with lifetime shipments of 3.68 million. Those shipment numbers cover territories outside Japan, because The Pokémon Company publishes the game domestically, so they understate the consumer-sales total now reported at over 5 million.

Expansion Pass content and free update

A free software update is available for all players, adding a Dive move that lets the player character, a Ditto, explore underwater. The paid Expansion Pass, sold on the Nintendo eShop, has three planned parts. Part 1, titled Bubbly Basin, is now available and introduces an underwater town with additional Pokémon, furniture, and food. Part 2 is scheduled for late 2026 and will add wearable accessories for Pokémon, while Part 3 is planned for 2027.

Next verifiable milestone

The next scheduled addition is Part 2 of the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass, due in late 2026, with Part 3 following in 2027.
