What the alliance covers

Palo Alto Networks and NTT Data Group signed a multi-year global alliance aimed at generating $1 billion in joint business revenue by the end of 2029. Under the agreement, Palo Alto Networks' security platform will be offered to NTT Data's consulting, engineering and managed services customers, with both companies making joint investments. Palo Alto Networks described it as the first partnership of its kind it has struck with a global systems integrator.
The deal establishes a dedicated go-to-market framework, a shared engineering roadmap, and gives NTT Data early access to pre-release platform features. Palo Alto Networks is also assigning dedicated field engineers to support the work. The arrangement is not exclusive, leaving NTT Data free to continue reselling competing security platforms, including CrowdStrike's Falcon.
How the partnership extends earlier work
The two companies already launched a joint managed cybersecurity service in 2024. NTT Data then joined the Frontier AI Alliance in April as one of five founding members; since then, the alliance's membership has expanded past a dozen participants. The new agreement builds on those prior ties, broadening them into a multi-year commercial commitment and adding a coordinated engineering and go-to-market structure.
Six priority areas at launch
Six technical areas are in scope at launch. Topping the list is an autonomous security operations center that pairs Palo Alto Networks' agentic AI tools with NTT Data's managed detection and response personnel. Identity security runs on Idira, the platform Palo Alto Networks built from its $25 billion acquisition of CyberArk Software and released in May. Rounding out the launch scope are AI governance, multicloud posture management, firewall modernization, and a combined zero-trust and secure-access service-edge architecture. The first joint offerings are being applied to financial services, healthcare, manufacturing and the public sector.
Revenue mix and executive framing
The $1 billion target spans three years of contracts and orders across both companies' books, blending product, subscription and services revenue. Palo Alto Networks chairman and CEO Nikesh Arora said expanding the alliance "allows us to operationalize platformization at true global scale, helping enterprises eliminate legacy complexity and move fast without sacrificing safety." NTT Data Inc. CEO and chief AI officer Abhijit Dubey said AI is reshaping the threat landscape "at unprecedented speed" and that customers require resilience built on AI-driven security, industry knowledge and global reach.
What remains uncertain
Neither side disclosed how the $1 billion target is split between the two companies, nor did they outline interim milestones or annual revenue benchmarks toward the 2029 goal. The agreement's financial commitments, investment split between Palo Alto Networks and NTT Data, and the sequencing of early-access product rollouts were also not detailed. Reporting did not address expected headcount for the dedicated engineering teams.
Next verifiable milestone
The first joint managed services are scheduled for initial deployment in financial services, healthcare, manufacturing and the public sector, with follow-on reporting likely as customer wins and Idira integrations are announced.
