Final 'Coyote vs. Acme' Trailer Debuts at SDCC
The final trailer for Coyote vs. Acme premiered during the July 23 San Diego Comic-Con presentation, advancing the long-shelved animated feature toward a wide theatrical release. The film, based on Ian Frazier's 1990 New Yorker satirical piece of the same name, follows Wile E. Coyote's decision to sue the ACME Corporation after decades of equipment failures. Ketchup Entertainment acquired the project from Warner Bros., which had previously shelved it as a tax write-off. The new trailer includes footage of Porky Pig at a "pants-less modeling" audition and John Cena's lawyer interrogating Tweety Bird. Coyote vs. Acme is scheduled for theatrical release on August 28, 2026.
Zach Cregger's 'Resident Evil' Unveils Full Trailer
Sony Pictures released the full trailer for director Zach Cregger's Resident Evil on July 23 at SDCC, following an earlier teaser that premiered at CinemaCon in April. Cregger, the filmmaker behind Barbarian and last year's horror hit Weapons, directs an original story set within the franchise's fictional universe rather than a direct game adaptation. The screenplay is co-written by Cregger and Shay Hatten. The plot follows Bryan, a medical courier played by Austin Abrams, who accepts a double-pay urgent delivery to Raccoon City General during a snowy winter night and soon encounters a spreading outbreak. The cast includes Paul Walter Hauser as Carl, Zach Cherry as Dave, Kali Reis as Pauline, and Johnno Wilson as Max. Cregger has described his vision as "true to the spirit of the games." The production is from Columbia Pictures and Constantin Film in association with TriStar Pictures, with producers Robert Kulzer, Zach Cregger, Roy Lee, Miri Yoon, Carter Swan, and Asad Qizilbash. Sony has scheduled Resident Evil for theatrical release on September 18, 2026, and the property is based on Capcom's Resident Evil video game series that debuted in 1996.
Buffalo 8's 'Don't Let Them Out' Debuts Exclusive Trailer
ComingSoon premiered the exclusive trailer for Don't Let Them Out, a psychological horror thriller from Buffalo 8, on July 23. The film is the feature-length directorial debut of writer-director Lila McLaughlin and stars Emily Rios, Louis Ferreira, and Bonnie Root, with both McLaughlin and Root serving as producers. The story centers on a struggling woman who inherits an old house and, while attempting to sell it, discovers unsettling secrets. The project previously won Best Feature awards at the Arizona International Film Festival, the LA Femme International Film Festival, and the Dark Matter Film Festival. Buffalo 8 has scheduled a limited theatrical rollout beginning August 14 and running through September in cities including Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Portland, Austin, and New Jersey, with additional cities and a later digital release to be announced.
