Jennie's Lollapalooza headlining set and chart success
Blackpink member Jennie closed Lollapalooza Chicago on Saturday as the festival's closing headliner, becoming the first solo Korean female artist to headline the event. Her set included a live debut of her July 24 single "Less than a Lover," for which she co-wrote the lyrics and melody, along with an unpublished single performed as a surprise for the audience. "Less than a Lover" has topped the iTunes Top Songs Chart in 27 regions, a figure described as the highest for a K-pop solo single released this year.

Following the Chicago appearance, Jennie is scheduled to join the Summer Sonic 2026 lineup in Japan on August 14–16. The Lollapalooza set and Summer Sonic booking extend her solo activity outside Blackpink, which has previously headlined major international festivals as a group.
Dino's Picheolin persona and the 'Gilboard' concept
Seventeen's Dino is set to release his debut EP under his alter ego "Picheolin" on Monday through Pledis Entertainment. Titled "Gilboard," the EP blends EDM trap, city pop and new jack swing to reinterpret 1990s Korean street music culture, with Pledis framing the project around a Korean sense of "heung," or spirited fun. The EP's name combines the Chinese character "gil" (auspicious) with "board" from the U.S. Billboard chart, referencing a tacit 1990s street ranking based on how often cassette vendors played songs through large speakers to attract passersby.
Lead track collaboration and artistic framing
The EP's lead single, "Norabose (Let's Play)," was produced by Hitchhiker, a former Rollercoaster member credited on numerous K-pop hits, and pairs sleek melodies with witty lyrics. Dino, quoted through Pledis, said he aimed to express "not just simple enjoyment, but a range of life's emotions," positioning the project as a stylistically rooted K-pop release rather than a conventional solo outing.
