Jennie's newly released single "Less than a Lover" topped YouTube's Music Video Trending Worldwide list upon release, according to reporting from July 25. The accompanying music video also secured the #1 spot on YouTube trending video charts in both South Korea and the United States, underscoring the track's immediate global reach on the platform.

iTunes and Apple Music global rankings

According to Jennie's agency OA Entertainment, "Less than a Lover" reached #1 on the iTunes Top Songs chart in 27 countries and regions, including Brazil, the Philippines, and Indonesia, marking the largest number of regional #1s for a K-pop solo single released this year. The track also charted high on Apple Music's Top Songs chart in Southeast Asian markets including Cambodia, Vietnam, and Laos.

Strong performance in China and Southeast Asia

The single swept #1 on China's three major streaming platforms, QQ Music, NetEase Cloud Music, and Kugou Music. On QQ Music, "Less than a Lover" earned a Gold certification, described by OA Entertainment as the only K-pop female solo single released this year to achieve that distinction in the market.

South Korean chart performance

"Less than a Lover" ranked #2 on Melon's HOT100 chart as reported in coverage from July 25, following its release at 1 p.m. Korea time on July 24. The song, which Jennie wrote and composed, blends Lo-fi-textured guitar riffs and vintage electric keyboard sounds in an alternative pop arrangement.

Adjacent chart activity and upcoming live dates

Jennie's prior collaborative track "Dracula" with Australian band Tame Impala held the #5 position on the US Billboard Hot 100 for a second consecutive week as of July 25. Looking ahead, Jennie is scheduled to headline Lollapalooza Chicago in Grant Park on August 1, followed by SUMMER SONIC 2026 dates in Tokyo on August 14 and Osaka on August 16.
