Anthropic files for a Nasdaq listing

An adult's hand reaches for office file folders, capturing a thoughtful moment. Indoors setting.

Anthropic filed to go public on Nasdaq under the ticker ANT, according to reporting published October 26. The reviewed reporting said the filing would make the artificial intelligence company the first frontier AI lab to seek a listing, while providing prospective investors with financial and operating disclosures about its growth and risks.

The company did not announce a completed listing or an offering price in the reviewed reporting. Its filing initiates the process, but the report does not establish when the offering might occur.

Revenue rose sharply in the first half

Anthropic’s S-1 prospectus disclosed first-half 2026 revenue of $16.3 billion, up from $1.16 billion in the year-earlier period. That represents growth of roughly 14 times, or about 1,300%.

Operating losses narrowed to $693 million from $2.1 billion. Cost of revenue increased to $2.38 billion from $1.02 billion; the report translated those figures into a gross margin of 85%, compared with 12% a year earlier.

Enterprise customers accounted for most revenue

More than 11,900 customers spending at least $100,000 annually generated $12 billion, or 74% of Anthropic’s first-half revenue. The reported customer base included every Fortune 10 company and more than half of the Fortune 500.

Those figures concern revenue attributed to the disclosed customer group, not confirmed future bookings or a guaranteed level of future revenue.

Anthropic estimates a large knowledge-work opportunity

The filing estimated that Anthropic could address a market worth more than $40 trillion, based on the economic value created by knowledge workers globally in 2025. Anthropic characterized that figure as economic activity it hopes to serve rather than as a forecast of AI spending.

The estimate was compared with an approximately $117 trillion global economy and a roughly $31 trillion U.S. economy. The reviewed sources did not provide a separate breakdown of pricing, expected revenue, adoption-based billing or disclosed unit economics for that opportunity.

Filing details remain central to the IPO process

The available reporting said the prospectus covered Anthropic’s enterprise adoption, revenue model and computing requirements. The reviewed reports did not disclose the number of shares offered, the proposed offering size, a valuation, a share-sale price or proceeds to the company.

Accordingly, the filing establishes the company’s intent to seek a public listing and makes its disclosed performance available to the market, but it does not establish the timing, size or financial outcome of an IPO.
