A Layered Stay in the Heart of Tehran

Hanna Boutique Hotel reads like a small time capsule inside contemporaryTehran, a collection of layers added on over nearly a century. The property's official framing is that the experience of staying here will present different glimpses of life in Tehran, a unique experience at the center of a busy, chaotic city where art, architecture, design, and modern-day hospitality come together.

The Lolagar Alley Story

The hotel sits within a row of six buildings on Lolagar Alley that were constructed in 1930 by a master builder known as Hassan Banna. The houses were commissioned by two brothers, Mohammad Bagher and Akbar Lolagar. A charming detail of the original design is that the houses on Lolagar Alley are symmetrical to one another; for every door and window, there is another identical one across the street. The hotel's backstory also nods to a broader shift in the city, the moment when streets began to appear in Tehran and a general level of security was established, and houses began to lose their barriers and open their windows to the public space.

From Restoration to Inauguration

The current chapter of the building began when it was purchased by Persian Garden Studio in 2016, the studio's first experience in urban rehabilitation. After two years of careful restoration work, Hanna Boutique Hotel was inaugurated in the winter of 2018. That arc, from a 1930s residential block to a contemporary boutique property, is what gives the place its character today.

Design With Tehran as Its Muse

Inside, the hotel is meant to feel like a modern, intimate space that will provide its patrons with a unique experience. Its interior design draws on contemporary Iranian and international architecture, an approach that treats the building's heritage as a starting point rather than a costume. The result is a setting where old walls meet a fresh design vocabulary.

Inside the Property

The hotel counts seven rooms, supported by a restaurant and dedicated Platform and Pop-Up spaces. That combination gives the property a dual personality: a small, design-led place to sleep, and a venue that can host pop-up events and gatherings alongside everyday hospitality.

Practical Considerations

The mapped coordinates and address place the hotel inside Tehran's historic Lolagar Alley neighborhood. Because services, room configurations and on-site offerings can evolve over time, guests may want to confirm current details directly with the property before planning a stay.
