Rockstar Games will premiere "Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look" on Netflix on August 27, 2026, with no plans to delay the broadcast despite a fresh wave of GTA 6 leaks, according to a Bloomberg report cited by industry coverage. The footage will become available on Rockstar's YouTube channel and website roughly six hours after the Netflix debut.
New leaks tied to a working build
The leaks began surfacing on August 18 and include scenes of protagonist Jason playing basketball, driving, fighting non-player characters, and stealing vehicles, along with a purported full Leonida map, a cutscene, and in-game radio clips. In one video the leaker shoots the word "Leek" into a wall with a gun, suggesting access to a functional build rather than only pre-recorded footage. Bloomberg, via Jason Schreier, reported the leaker may still be active and could possess an early working version of the game.
Internal fallout at Rockstar
Rockstar leadership is investigating the source of the breach, with one senior executive sending an internal email condemning the leak and thanking staff while telling them it would not diminish their work. Employees were described as "frustrated and exhausted," and the incident marks a second major GTA 6 leak in recent years. Rockstar had previously required developers to return to the office five days a week in an effort to reduce the risk of further leaks.
Development status and release window
GTA 6 remains in the final stages of development rather than fully complete, meaning the leaked material may not reflect the shipping product. Take-Two and Rockstar continue to target a November 19, 2026 launch for the game, with the August 27 broadcast positioned as the next major marketing milestone ahead of release.
