Vertiv Holdings reported third-quarter 2026 results that exceeded company guidance, with demand described as strong across data-center power, cooling, and infrastructure systems in multiple regions. CEO Giordano Albertazzi said demand signals were broad-based across technologies, customer types, and regions, while third-quarter organic orders more than doubled from a year earlier.
The company said it would stop reporting orders data, limiting investors’ ability to track that demand indicator directly. Net sales increased 61% year over year to approximately $4.3 billion, including about 55% organic growth and six percentage points from acquisitions.
Acquisitions supplemented organic expansion
Vertiv’s reported growth combined organic expansion with acquired businesses, meaning the 61% sales increase was not wholly organic. The regional results nevertheless showed that demand extended beyond one market: Americas sales rose 75% to about $3 billion, Asia-Pacific sales increased 50% to $779 million, and Europe, Middle East, and Africa sales rose 23% to $545 million.
These results support the conclusion that data-center infrastructure demand was geographically broad during the quarter, although the reported figures do not disclose customer procurement, individual order values, or supplier allocations.
Higher volume improved operating leverage
Adjusted diluted earnings per share rose 78% to $2.21, exceeding the midpoint of company guidance by $0.41. Adjusted operating profit increased 83% to about $1.1 billion, while adjusted operating margin expanded 290 basis points to 25.2%.
CFO Craig Chamberlin attributed the improvement to higher volume, operating leverage, and continued productivity gains. The margin and cash-flow movement therefore indicate that the additional volume was accompanied by better operating economics, rather than sales growth alone.
Adjusted free cash flow increased 50% to $652 million, and the company ended the quarter with net leverage of negative 0.2 times, which Chamberlin described as providing significant strategic flexibility. The reviewed reporting does not specify what acquisitions or investment opportunities that flexibility may support.
Management lifted the full-year outlook
Vertiv raised its full-year outlook for sales, profit, and free cash flow after the third-quarter results. It also signaled continued above-market organic growth in 2027, providing management’s forward view beyond the reported quarter rather than a realized forecast.
The next test is whether the company can sustain its order and organic-growth momentum while preserving its expanded margins. Because Vertiv plans to discontinue orders reporting, subsequent disclosure of sales, organic growth, profitability, and cash flow will become the principal observable measures for evaluating that outlook.
